eBay has released an updated version of its main iPhone application, which now includes selling functionality alongside RedLaser barcode scanning.

This technology is also set to revolutionise the whole shopping experience by enabling consumers to compare in-store prices with internet / eBay prices by scanning items with mobile phone cameras.
The updated 2.1 app now enables users to list items instantly, with pictures taken on their iPhone instantly downloaded on to the online marketplace,
25% of Australians use their mobile phone to shop, the e-tailer said.
Users can also save time via barcode scanning technology which pre-fill information in certain categories.

In addition, users can now use the handy ‘sell one like this’ functions If it wishes to list a similar item to one already sold or selling on eBay, which will automatically update product details.
A startling 5-10% of Australian iPhone owners are logging into their eBay app every day, the e-tailer also confirmed.
“Now with selling functionality, users will easily be able to sell an item on eBay in order to fund the purchase of their next great bargain” said eBay spokesperson Jenny Thomas.
Its iPhone app has been downloaded more than 30 million times in 190 countries since its launch in 2008.
Other tools on the 2.1 app now includes My eBay ‘Quick View’: provides instant buying and selling updates, access to the Big Deal, and reminders and saved searches.
