LG To Launch 15inch OLED TV Soon 32inch 2010

LG have shown their new 15″ OLED TV which is expected to go on sale in Australia soon, they have also confirmed that they will launch a new wafer thin 32 OLED TV in 2010.

We have also been told that Apple will launch a 32″ LG made OLED display screen with a TV tuner mid 2010.

Tipped by SmartHouse in April the new LG OLED TV’s is set to hurt Sony’s plan to be a dominant player in the OLED TV market.

LGs Korean Engineer Jeong Woo Choi told the UK TechRadar that LG is not too far from putting 32-inch OLED TVs into production, and that they would go on sale in Europe in 2010.

“The 15-inch OLED which was shown at last week’s IFA show in Berlin is to be put on sale in December this year,” said Choi, “and we aim to launch our 32-inch model at some point next year”.

The new 15″ OLED TV which is set to retail in Australia for less than $3,000 is only 1.7mm thick. In Comparison Sony who is known for their price gouging of Australian consumers is selling their two year old 11″ Sony OLED panel for $6,999.

The LG OLED TV’s has a slim profile and are 1.7mm thin. It has a 1366×768 pixel resolution and boasts a contrast ratio of 100,000:1.

LG Display executives have also said that they plan to launch several new OLED devices including several new OLED products for Apple but refused to divulge what or when.
