Transforming your next-generation console into a TV quiz show gaming machine will soon be possible, as Sony will be releasing its Buzz Quiz TV for PlayStation 3 in March 2008.
Sony says that the Buzz!: Quiz TV for the PS3 will contain 5000 questions that are divided into five channels: The Music Channel, The Movies and TV Channel, The Sports Channel, The Knowledge Channel, and The Lifestyle Channel. Users can choose between playing a whole game with questions from a single channel or select ‘Channel Hopper’ mode to take a random mix of questions drawn from all five.
Other features for the PlayStation 3 release are:
- Downloadable content: Users may be able to download quiz packs available from the PlayStation Store on its PlayStation Network.
- Online gaming: A Sofa vs. Sofa online multiplayer gaming will also be implemented, allowing users to join forces and take on other groups of players across the world in games involving up to four teams at once. Sony also claims that there will be leagues and tournaments in the future that will keep the community on their toes.
- Write and share your own quizzes: Finally, users have the opportunity to write, upload and share your own quiz content on the all-new MyBuzz community site which links directly to the game. With this tool, users can share these questions with the rest of the Buzz community and can be created, played and rated via PC as well as PS3.
