If you have forked out for a great speaker system, but you want to get a little more oomph out of the amp, Musical Fidelity has come up with a neat solution – the 550K Supercharger.
According to the company, most systems are about 10dB deficient in their dynamic range capability, the 550K Supercharger is designed to give you those 10dB back. Musical Fidelity says the Supercharger will increase the power of any amplifier from 50-200W to more than 550W.

Besides the increased dynamic range, the product also claims to provide a qualitative improvement in your existing amplifier, smoothing out any distortion and non-linearities as the amp no longer has to drive a difficult reactive low impedance load or produce high peak currents.
The Supercharger will be available in September through Audio Marketing. With a price tag of $3,995 or $ 7,990 per pair, the product is not cheap, however Musical Fidelity says, since it will improve the sound of any system (and save you having to go out and buy a brand new system) it is good value.
