IT Help Is On The Way

Gizmo is an on-site IT support service for the home, which is now available to people living in Melbourne following the company’s acquisition of Nerds for Hire.

With the motto “We’ve read the manuals”, the Gizmo service provides Australians with on-site home support for computer, home networking, peripherals and media centre maintenance and set up. Nerds for Hire offers a similar service in Melbourne.

Gizmo launched its Sydney operation and nationwide phone service earlier this month. With the acquisition, the Nerds for Hire business will operate under the Gizmo brand by the end of September this year.

“Gizmo is moving quickly to help more and more Australians keep up with the rapid pace of advancement in home technology. The acquisition of Nerds for Hire enables us to provide Melbournians with a service to help them install, trouble-shoot and understand how to get the most out their home technologies,” said Gizmo CEO, Brett Chenoweth.

Home service visits are priced at a flat rate and range from $120 to $240 depending on the service required while over the phone service is a flat $60 (support that requires less than ten minutes costs only $20). Additionally, Gizmo offers a ‘no fix, no fee’ guarantee in the case that the solution may be that the customer needs to upgrade or replace software or hardware, for example.
