LG Electronics has released a 32 inch CRT television (32FS2RNB) which is claimed to be 30 percent slimmer than conventional CRT television sets.
According to LG Electronics Australia Marketing Manager, Darren Goble, CRT television which
has been known for its affordability and reliability for many years is now being overlooked in favour of slim TV formats such as plasma and LCD. He said that “The development of LG’s new super-slim CRT will certainly attract consumers seeking an all-round product that is also an aesthetically pleasing alternative to both plasma and LCD.”
Features on the new 32 inch include the XDTM engine which is claimed to improve sound quality and digital signals, Digital Eye, which adjusts screen brightness depending upon the light intensity within a room, and PIP which allows up to two programs on separate channels to be viewed simultaneously. It is also HD ready, with a resolution of 576p – the minimum required to be considered high definition.
The new TV weighs about 50 kg and is priced at $1499.
