Apple launched a bunch of nifty new accessories for its market-hogging iPod at the recent Macworld Expo, including an iPod FM remote, an AV connection kit and in-ear headphones.
All are now shipping and will be available through Apple’s Store and authorised resellers.
Radio Remote
The iPod Radio Remote ($79) adds FM radio to the fifth-gen’ and nano iPod via a compact and handy wired remote control that controls the radio and all other usual iPod functions while the iPod proper is tucked away.
The Remote includes a colour LCD which displays the radio frequency, which is intuitively adjustable using the familiar (in this case miniaturised), Click Wheel.
Stations supporting Radio Data System (RDS) also display artist and song information.
A shortened set of earphones is supplied with the Remote and other (non-Apple) earphones can be connected via 3.5 mm mini-plug.
Playback time is reduced using the FM Remote because it draws power from the iPod battery.

AV Connection Kit
Apple says the iPod AV Connection Kit ($149) provides all the bits and pieces needed for the consummate living room iPod experience.
It comprises an AV cable for listening to music through your home audio system or watching video through your home theatre system. A cute wireless remote control allows control from the couch. Power problems are overcome by a universal dock and adapters.

nano In-Ear Lanyard Headphones
Apple’s In-Ear Headphones for nano ($79) form a seal around the ear canal to deliver, it claims, clean sound and excellent bass response. Three caps are provided to match different ear sizes. The audio cable is integrated with the lanyard itself to help prevent clutter.
