Samsung Australia, who is pitching its 2011 TV offering on Smart TV technology, is set to release a new Smart View app for its Galaxy S II that allows users to toggle between watching content on a TV to being able to watch the same content on their Samsung Smartphone and later this year on a 10.1 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet.John Fragiadakis, Samsung Australia’s Technical Marketing Manager, demonstrated the new application for SmartHouse claiming that it was ideal for users who start watching a TV show in the lounge and then want to progress to watching the same show on their Smartphone in bed.
The new Smart View App is now ready for download after being trialled by Samsung Australia.
During a recent demonstration we were able to pause a TV program, using the phone app, flick between stations as well as change the source of the content.
The app allows you to watch TV content when you link it up to a new generation Samsung Smart TV. It does not work with older Samsung TVs sold prior to 2011.
Last year when Samsung was spruiking its 3D TVs, it launched the original Samsung Remote which allowed viewers to control a TV using a phone and tablet application.
The latest version of the Samsung TV remote app works with the new Samsung D7000 and D8000 series TVs.
“Samsung Smart TV is leading the ‘smart revolution’ not only with the features of Smart TV itself – such as rich content, 2D and 3D picture quality, smart functions and design – but also with input devices using our Qwerty smart remote control, the Samsung Remote app, and now with Smart View,” said Fragiadakis.
