Pricing for the much touted Microsoft Surface tablet has emerged and it is a shocker.
A Swedish Web site has posted the pricing of the new tablet and we think you should be sitting down before you read this.
Go ahead, take a seat.
The introductory tab has been priced at 6,990 kroner, which works out to be roughly US$1000 based on current exchange rates. The price continues to rocket, with the top of the range model reaching US$2,150. Sure, hardware is a little more expensive in Sweden, but it’s not that expensive, easily exceeding the price of the top of the range iPad, which sells for 7,195 Kroner.
Even worse the web site is not offering the special keyboard attachment with the shocker price tag.
Despite the report, Microsoft has declined to comment on the accuracy of these prices, so as always, take them with a pinch of salt.
