Apple swoop on iPhone5.com domain…as cheeky Apple fans decided to grab themselves.

The iPhone maker has begun proceedings with the World Intellectual Property Organization over the domain name capture of iPhone 5 according to MacRumours, who cited fusible.
Currently, iPhone5.com leads users on to a discussion forum (boasting 381 members) and news on the next iPhone.
WIPO are said to be currently assessing Apple’s claim.
This appears to suggest the next iPhone model could be christened ‘iPhone 5’ – although considering it has become a little odd with its naming of late (think “new iPad” and “iPhone 4S) – anything is still possible.

Cupertino has previously sought ownership rights to iphone4S. iPhone 4, iphoneporn4s.com, iphonesex4s.com, as well as appleproductsonline.com, appleipods.com.
iPhone 5, tipped to sport a larger screen and be thinner in form, is set to be launched later this year.
However, it is interesting Apple only decided to go after the domain name now, since most watchers believed ‘5’ was to be released last year.
iPhone5.com was launched in October last.
