EXCLUSIVE: Samsung has confirmed that they will shortly launch their Android 4.0 Galaxy Note in Australia along with a brand new Ice Cream Sandwich 4G Smartphone that is believed to have better battery capability than the HTC Velocity that was launched recently on the Telstra LTE network.Speaking exclusively to SmartHouse from Paris, Tyler McGee, the Vice President of Communications at Samsung Australia, said he believed that the Galaxy Note would have wide appeal in Australia.
“It’s an excellent product that we believe will appeal to a wide audience, not just niche audiences that want to use the drawing capability. We have had a lot of success with the product in the USA and we believe it will be equally popular here” McGee said.
He added “We will launch this product shortly along with a stylish new 4G Samsung smartphone in the first half”.
The Galaxy Note is a 5.3-inch device that some people describe as a “small” tablet while other people call it a smartphone.

It weighs 182 grams, has 16GB of internal storage (expandable to 32GB with SD memory card), and will run Android 4.0. It also comes with a stylus.
The new 4G Samsung smartphone is tipped to be a Nexus model that has the new Qualcomm processor delivering faster speeds and better battery life than current model 4G phones.
SmartHouse has also been able to confirm that a brand new sleek Galaxy S3 will be launched “midyear in Australia.” The device is said to be just 7mm thick and will go head to head with the new Apple iPhone which is expected at the same time.
The new 7mm width has been achieved due to the use of new printed circuit boards which has allowed Samsung to cut the size of the S3 by up to 20%, Samsung will retain the same screen size and an AMOLED screen.
