Samsung Smartphones: New 2GHz Dual Core Chipset

Samsung is on the offensive announcing the new chipset that’ll power its future smartphones and tablets. The new chip has been coined the Exynos 5250 and its specs deliver a ‘wow’ factor faithful to its predecessor, found at the core of Samsung’s current Galaxy SII.

GSMArena reports the Exynos 5250 features dual ARM Cortex A15 cores clocked at 2GHz and built according to the 32nm manufacturing process. Samsung claims the new chipset will deliver double the performance of its previous Exynos 4210 and render better graphics.

Graphic performance is up fourfold, with the new chipset capable of running stereoscopic 3D (that’s right, glasses free 3D.) Resolution capabilities have also been improved, delivering WQXGA 2560×1600, which is superior to a Full HD TV’s resolution of 1080×1,920. It’s also a fair way from the current Galaxy’s 480×800 screen capabilities. The high resolution screen will enhance touch input and gestures thanks to an increased pixel density.

Between enhanced touch recognition, faster performance and better graphics, the new chipset will be the primary ingredient used in making high end smartphone hardware. Samsung say the Exynos 5250 will see production lines in the second quarter of 2012 and quite frankly, it can’t come soon enough.
