Windows Architect Quits Microsoft As The Company Struggles

As Microsoft struggles to compete in the browser consumer and mobile phone market another senior executive has quit.

Ray Ozzie, Microsoft’s chief software architect has called it quits on the giant software Company who is under threat from Apple who will take on Windows later this year with a new Google Chrome OS.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced that Ozzie had quit in an email to staff earlier today.
Ballmer said that Ozzie, who has acted as a top technical visionary for the company since the retirement of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates in 2008, will leave Microsoft in the coming months after a transition period, during which he will help Microsoft with its investments in the field of entertainment.
Mr. Ballmer in his email said Mr. Ozzie “has no plans at this time” for another job.
Mr. Ballmer’s email provided no explanation for Mr. Ozzie’s departure. Mr. Ballmer noted that Microsoft has made big strides in the area of cloud computing, an initiative that Mr. Ozzie led for most of his tenure at Microsoft.
