As demand for receivers grow Hi Fi Companies like Denon, are starting to deliver a new generation of integrated units, such as their new 9.3-channel A/V receiver, which comes with an integrated Blu-ray player, digital radio and DLNA connectivity that allows PC and NAS stored content to be accessed via the receiver.
Set to be launched by Audio Products Australia before Xmas, the new 9.3 channel receiver is the company’s second AVR with Audyssey DSX post-processing technology. DSX adds a pair of soundstage-widening horizontal-plane front channels and a pair of front-height channels to a traditional 5.1-channel setup. The AVR also features Dolby Pro Logic IIz, which delivers front-height channels.
According to TWICE the new receiver also has built-in Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, two AM/FM tuners (one with HD Radio), Vertical Stretch (2.35:1 CinemaScope) mode, and video control adjustments memory by video input. Anchor Bay Technologies (ABT) video technology up-scales video to 1080p/24 and converts video from analogue to HDMI.
The new AVR also features HD Radio, DLNA networking to stream music from networked PCs and NAS devices, Internet radio streaming, and Rhapsody and Napster streaming.
A 2.0 profile Blu-ray player, which plays DVD-Audio and SACD music discs and comes with SD Card slot, is the first custom-oriented Blu-ray player to feature IP control, Web browser capabilities and remote access. It also features AVCHD and DivxHD playback.
Ken Dwyer the Managing Director of Audio Products Australia said “We are seeing an increase in sales of receivers in Australia. Via the specialist channel we are seeing an increase in demand for top end units that have integrated technology as is incorporated in the new Denon 9.3 channel receiver. While in the mass retail market we have seen an increase in demand for all in one Denon home theatre kits”.
