RocketLife Photo Media Claim Points Over Rivals

RocketLife partner Visan commissioned InfoTrends to conduct a series of focus groups to discuss the ease-of-use of its Web-based digital photo applications versus its rivals. RocketLife claims that it outscored in eight major categories over CVS, Kodak EasyShare Gallery, Shutterfly and Snapfish.

Categories where RocketLife said it outperformed others included:

  • Speed/ease of uploading images.
  • Organisation/viewing tools.
  • Editing/cropping/zooming.
  • Ease of selecting images.
  • Quality/variety of creative options.
  • Simplicity of creative tools.
  • Speed of creative tools.
  • Overall ease of use.

The speed factor was a big influence on the groups’ opinions on the differing services. In RocketLife, it was claimed a total of 2,039 photos were successfully placed into albums or on mugs, versus 979 photos for the other programs combined – a mean ratio of 2:1.

“In our comparative sample, the majority of people placed more photos in their RocketLife book and got more accomplished within the same time period using RocketLife,” said Alan Bullock of InfoTrends. “Product ease-of-use and speed increases the likelihood that consumers will actually order a piece of photo merchandise.
