Dick Smith Flog “Unlocked” iPhones

50 Dick Smith stores are to sell unlocked iPhones at $499 +

The 50 stores include all states including several in Sydney and NSW, Qld, Victoria, WA and Tas will begin offering unlocked Apple’s iPhone 4 and 4S.

Usually only available at Apple Stores, the 8GB iPhone 4 is selling for $449 at Dick’s, while an unlocked 16GB 4S has a pricetag of $679, identical to Apple Store pricing.

Sadly for Apple fans, the 4″ iPhone 5 won’t be available to buy unlocked.

Dick Smith says it is “one of the first” retailers in the world to sell unlocked iPhones, and is certainly one of the first bricks and mortar stores.

However, you can’t but the unlocked Apples from Dick Smith online store and are available in-store only.

Aussie e-tailer Kogan has been selling unlocked models for some time.
