US carrier T-Mobile have just announced the 4.3″ LCD HTC Amaze 4G on Android 2.3.4, with specs to die for – including a massive Dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor, HD touchscreen, 8 MP camera.

Hitting the States October 12 next Amaze is costing US$259.

The announcement comes as HTC 4G or or Long Term Evolution unnamed smartphone was revealed by Telstra yesterday with a massive a 4.5-inch display, a 1.2GHz dual-core CPU and runs on the Android Gingerbread OS, to be launched next year.

But the phone set for a 2012 launch here although hasn’t officially been given a name yet, isn’t the Amaze judging by specs on the Telstra handset.

“The HTC phone we are working with for a 2012 launch is not yet named,” a Telstra spokesperson told SmartHouse today, while HTC Australia also claimed they had not heard any rumbling about Amaze, just yet.

LTE technology promises super fast network speeds and looks set to dominate the mobile landscape say analysts Ovum with Telstra the first to kick off.

“Telstra plans to roll out its LTE network fast, and it will maintain this speed in 2012. Over time, more and more traffic will be carried on LTE, especially after 2013 when the digital dividend 700MHz spectrum is made available”David Kennedy, Research Director comment:.

“Telstra also wants a smooth transition. Instead of marketing LTE as a separate service, it will issue everyone with the same 3G/4G dongles so that the 3G and 4G networks work seamlessly.”

“Most users won’t be aware which network they are using. It has also made a $10 a month adjustment to price, but only for its top plan, keeping the price impact small.”

However, Amaze or not HTC fans in Oz can have 4G model to look forward to, at least.
