Windows 8 Gets QuickFlix-ed

Troubled QuickFlix movies touches another base.

The first Windows 8 app for streaming
Quickflix movies and TV series in

Australia and New Zealand, has
been announced.

 Aussie based content provider Quickflix,
who has already ran into major financial troubles earlier this year, says the app will help it  take “advantage

Of Windows 8’s ground—breaking user interface and massive
potential for reaching Windows—based customers.”

A Quickflix spokesperson could not reveal precise up-to-date subsciption numbers locally when contacted by SmartHouse today, but did say there has been “quite a significant increase” from last year.

In January, Quickflix said its user numbers were “steady” with almost 120,000 paying customers, with the numbers streaming online rising by 42,000 or 18%

But new analyst figures out today show Windows
8 has failed to wash with computer users globally, and has contributed to a slump in sales of touch
notebooks, laptops, so may drive up Quickflix subscriptions as anticipated.
