Smartphone users will next year be able to buy a 64-bit quad-core smartphone with several vendors set to show new offering at the 2014 CES which kicks off in January.
Qualcomm, Nvidia and Broadcom will show 64-bit
quad-core solutions for smartphones at CES the new technology delivers faster
movie downloads and significantly speeds up the delivery of content to a
screen.
DigiTimes said recently that several
smartphone brands are concerned about the 64-bit A7 processor used in the
iPhone 5s and are currently mapping plans to catch the iPhone 5s in terms of
hardware specifications.
The chip manufacturers are aiming to
release 64-bit smartphone solutions in the first half of 2014, the sources
added.
