Apple has released five new versions of its MacBook Pro, the new portable PC’s come with Retina display and faster processors.
The new range consists of 13in and 15in models. Two of the three new 13in models now have a 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, the previous models had a 2.5GHz processor. The top-end MacBook has a 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor.
The new notebooks have been launched ahead of the launch of Apple’s new Mac OS X platform Yosemite.
Overnight Apple Australia updated its website to show that the available in either 13in or 15in display sizes with prices ranging from $1,349 to $2,199.
Two of the three new 13in models now boast a 2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, while the previous models had a 2.5GHz processor. The top-end device has a 2.8GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, but can be ordered with even faster Core i7 processors to a max of 3Ghz, and other upgrades.

As regards storage, the 13in MacBook Pro models come in either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB options. The 512GB model is configurable to 1TB of flash storage.
The two new 15in models both come with 16GB of memory but offer different processor and storage options. The cheaper of the two models has a 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and 256GB of storage and costs $2499. The storage is configurable to 512GB or 1TB flash storage.
The top-end model has a 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 chip set and 512GB of storage and costs $2999. This is also configurable to 1TB of flash storage.
The new models come with the Maverick OS if purchased now, they will soon be able to download the free upgrade to the new OS X Yosemite release due later this year.
Configure-to-order options include faster quad-core Intel Core i7 processors up to 2.8GHz with Turbo Boost speeds up to 4.0GHz and flash storage up to 1TB, Apple said.

Numbers and Keynote allow for editing and sharing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, and iWork for iCloud beta allows creating a document on iPhone or iPad, editing it on a Mac and sharing it with friends, even if they are on a PC. The new MacBook Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina Display models are now available today at the Apple Online Store, Apple’s retail stores and JB Hi Fi stores.
