Motorola has launched an upgrade to its budget-friendly Moto E smartphone, with 4G LTE and running Android 5.0 Lollipop.“Packed with more features and functionality”, the new Moto E delivers enhanced specs and carries a greater price tag than its predecessor, but still sits firmly within the budget smartphone price range.
Sporting a 4.5″ qHD (540 x 960) display, the Moto E is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, is equipped with 1 GB RAM, and, dependent on configuration, comes with 8 GB internal memory, with support for up to a 32 GB microSD card.
The Moto E is decked out with a 5 MP rear-facing camera and also comes with a front-facing VGA camera.
Motorola has additionally brought its Quick Capture feature to the Moto E, allowing for launch of the camera with two twists of the wrist, while, twisting again, the user can switch to the front-facing camera.
Weighing in at 145 g, the Moto E sports a curved-back design, and is available in black and white, with users having the option to accessorise with interchangeable Motorola bands and grip shells.
Rolling out in more than 50 countries, in the US the new Moto E carries a price tag of US$119.99 (around $153) for the 3G version and US$149.99 (around $191) for the LTE version.
The Moto E will be available in Australia in the coming months.
