Netgear Expand Security Range With Arlo Go

With the new 2017 Arlo Pro set to offer significant improvements to existing users, Netgear are expanding the appeal of the security range with the LTE-enabled Arlo Go.

For outdoor users, Netgear are prepping the LTE-enabled Arlo Go.

Skripic says that the push into LTE was one guided by user feedback they got from Arlo customers.

They found that a significant amount of Arlo customers would be willing to purchase an Arlo unit capable of working out of the range of the Wi-Fi base station.

The Go boasts a very similar shape to the Pro, it’s just a little wider in form-factor as a result of the additional connectivity.

Skripic cited camping, boating and constructions situations as an ideal use-case for product.

The battery in the Arlo Go is also slightly larger, offsetting the increased power-consumption of LTE-connectivity.

Skripic says it’ll offer roughly two-months of battery life on a single charge and, like the Arlo Pro, 720p quality video.

The Arlo Go comes compatible with the new charger and solar panel accessory, set to arrive in April alongside the Pro.

At launch, it’ll run on the Telstra network, though Skripic quickly explains their partnership with Telstra doesn’t necessary preclude Netgear from adding connectivity with other carriers.

“Right now we are working with a lot of carriers worldwide.to deploy and certify the product on their networks”, he said.

“We’ve got a strong partnership. They are one of our biggest partners in the world,” Netgear’s Managing Director ANZ Brad Little added.

Netgear haven’t finalised Australian pricing for the Arlo Go but the device is scheduled to hit the market in July.
