Canon who are anal over non disclosure agreements and punishing journalists who refuse to sign them, is tipped to launch a series of new camera’s under NDA, including the much anticipate EOS 60D digital camera which is a replacement for the tired old EOS 50D.
The Company that is under pressure from both Nikon and Panasonic in Australia is struggling to hold onto market share and more so profits as compact camera sales fall and consumers move to a new generation of Smartphone’s, and a new generation of compact digital SLR camera’s.
The EOS 60D is a replacement for the two year old 50D. The new model will have an 18-megapixel sensor, 1080p video and high light sensitivity.
It will also have an OLED screen that swivels to allow shots to be taken from several angles similar to the Panasonic Lumix offering.
Other models tipped is the G12, a CMOS-based sequel to Canon’s pro compact; the S95, a similar upgrade to the S90; and both the SX30 and SX130. An EOS 1Ds MarK IV is also in the offing to replace Canon’s top end full-frame camera.
