It’s Baaack: $99 HP TouchPad Hit eBay Monday

Fancy a cheap tablet for Christmas? Well you may be in luck. HP are releasing round 2 of its troubled TouchPad running WebOS.

The tablets, available at 6pm US Central Time on December 11th (that’s early Monday morning here) from HP’s eBay store and will cost US$99 for the 16GB and $149 for the 32GB version, reports Ausdroid.

However, there are a few snags.

The 9.7 inch tablets (same size as iPad 2) are “refurbished” models, there is only a 90 day warranty and no returns are allowed either.

Also, there is a limited for two per customer and payments can only be made via PayPal.

The offer is limited so you better be online bright and early on Monday morning.

This quick sale comes after Hewlett Packard’s arguably premature decision to ditch its webOS and the TouchPad tablet back in July, which prompted retailers like Harvey Norman, to flog the tab at a cut price A$98 for 16GB model.

There is also 3-piece accessory bundle going, with a case, charging dock and wireless keyboard for $79.

Specs wise, the tablet has 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual core processor, 1GB of RAM memory and runs HP’s now abandoned WebOS 3.0.

TouchPad is now the second most popular tablet in the US after the iPad due to the cheap-as-chips sell off price.

And there is a strong possibility the WebOS device may be converted to the Android platform.
