World Cup Fever Goes Big Screen with BenQ’s Home Projector Line-Up

As Australia gears up for the next FIFA World Cup, living rooms are fast becoming the new sports bars and BenQ is betting big on home projectors as the ultimate match-day upgrade.

The company has launched a fresh push around its 4K home entertainment projector range – the TK705i, TK705STi and GP520 – as the ideal centrepiece for football fans chasing a stadium-style experience at home.

At the heart of the pitch is size. BenQ’s projectors can throw images up to 150 inches, turning even compact lounge rooms into giant-screen viewing zones for everything from Socceroos clashes to late-night finals.

But it’s not just about scale. The new models focus heavily on sport-friendly features, including MEMC (Motion Estimation Motion Compensation) technology designed to smooth fast-moving action and reduce blur during rapid passes, breakaways and goalmouth chaos.

BenQ’s dedicated Sports Mode also tweaks colour balance and contrast to make turf greens pop and skin tones look more natural under bright living-room lighting – handy for daytime kick-offs in Australia.

The flagship TK705STi short-throw model can project a 100-inch image from just 1.8 metres away, making it ideal for apartments and tighter living spaces where traditional projector setups struggle.

Brightness has also been boosted across the range, with up to 3,000 ANSI lumens helping maintain a clear image even with ambient lighting or a room full of mates refusing to sit in the dark.

Streaming is built in via Google TV, giving users direct access to sports apps and streaming services without extra boxes or dongles cluttering the setup. Bluetooth audio and eARC support also allow easy pairing with soundbars or home theatre systems for a more immersive crowd-noise effect.

BenQ is also pitching the projectors as dual-purpose entertainment hubs. With input lag as low as 5ms at 4K/60Hz on the TK705i and TK705STi, they double as capable gaming displays for FIFA, EA Sports FC and other competitive titles once the final whistle blows.

Pricing starts at $1,599 for the GP520, with the TK705i at $1,999 and the premium TK705STi at $2,299 as part of the company’s current promotional offers.
