Xiaomi Eyes 10,000mAh Phone and Ultra-Bright Smart Ceiling Light

Xiaomi is reportedly preparing a bold move in smartphone battery tech, with a new device tipped to feature a massive 10,000mAh battery while staying surprisingly slim.

According to leaks on Weibo, the handset will support 100W wired charging and high-speed wireless charging, yet remain under 8.5mm thick, putting it in league with flagship devices like the Honor Magic 8 Pro.

The device could also feature a 165Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals for gaming and everyday scrolling.

Details about branding – whether Xiaomi, Redmi or Poco – remain unclear, but the handset is expected to arrive in the coming months, likely positioning Xiaomi as a serious rival to Honor’s upcoming battery-heavy devices.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is making waves in home tech as well.

The company recently launched the Mijia Diffuse Reflection Ceiling Light, its priciest ceiling light to date at 1899 yuan (around A$268).

Designed for eye safety and even room illumination, the ultra-thin 20cm lamp delivers up to 10,000 lumens via 550 LEDs.

Its advanced optical system, including a micro-structured diffuser and concave lower panel, offers flicker-free, low blue light output suitable for adults and children alike.

The ceiling light also integrates with Xiaomi HyperOS and the Mi Home app, supporting brightness and colour temperature adjustments, personalised wake-up and sleep routines, voice commands and independent upper/lower light control.

The lamp’s certifications include TÜV SÜD Zero Glare and mother-and-baby grade lighting.

These launches follow a string of smart home and personal tech releases from Xiaomi, including the Mijia Washer Dryer Set Pro and a 22,000Pa upright vacuum.
