UPDATED: The much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S3 is set to be launched in Australia shortly with SmartHouse told that Telstra is already testing the device for an April or late March launch.A Samsung document seen by SmartHouse reveals that the Korean Company will announce the new Galaxy S3 on March the 22nd. Some media outlets have already received invitations for the March 22 event in France.
The device that was not shown at last week’s World Mobile Congress will have a quad core 1.5GHz Exynos processor.
According to Telstra sources the device is 4G, has an edge to edge design and a 4.8-inch HD screen. Also included will be Android 4.0.
According to Samsung sources the global release date has been set for April with Telstra planning to put the device on sale within days.
Both Optus and Vodafone will have access to the device; however, it is not known whether Telstra will get the device exclusive for the first month.
SmartHouse has been told that the Company recently shot a new TV commercial for the device with part of the commercial focusing on a new camera that is built into the S3.
We suspect that it could be a 10 or 12 megapixel camera.
The device will also come with applications preloaded that allow users to access Samsung’s new range of Smart TVs that will go on sale in May 2012.
