Cabasse La Sphere Speakers: A Must Hear

It is a no compromise, ultimate acoustic masterpiece and surpasses all existing references, says its French makers Cabasse.

Meet La Sphere.

Visually the speakers are mind blowing and speak volumes: their smooth fibre glass pearl grey finish look like plane propellers propped up by a complex design structure.

Its “technological art” say the Canon owned Cabasse and they’re not lying.

The question is does sound live up to its appearance? The answer is yes. yes. yes.

Representing the top end of the Cabasse range the demo which took place in Melbourne last night offered crisp dramatic sound unlike anything I’ve heard in a very long time.

The high precision didn’t disappoint and you could almost feel a live performance was talking place before your eyes.

However for the price – a cool $199,000 for two – it would want to be mind blowing ….and much more. And thats before one even buys a sound system to do these undeniable masterpieces justice.

If I’m spending that kind of cash I want to feel the soundwaves blowing through my hair.

But people do, said Fredrick Lenovo from Cabasse who said they sold twelve of the devices last year.

And CEO Christoph Cabasse, who’s father set up the company 60 years ago will “personally install them into your house and fine tune them to ensure optimum sound performance” he promises.

The French sound experts will engage in a “fitting” where they will take over your living area and ensure the speakers are adjusted to the size and layout of the space and deliver sound offered by La Sphere’s advanced speaker intelligence.

Sound fanatics from Hong Kong and China have been particularly endeared to Cabasse high end speakers line says Cabasse, which the company says is “like a good French wine” and customers love the French high quality ethos.

Specs wise La sphere is a 4 way co-axial unit with a QC55 driver and a 2.5cm tweeter dome. Low to midrange it has a 21cm duocell ring and a 55cm “honeycomb dome” woofer.

At upper-midrange it has a 21cm PC2 ring and a frequency response ranging from 20-25,0000Hz which gives it its absolute and pure sound capture charachteristics.

It is also fitted with a 4 way active processor and fitted with a SHARC 32-bit floating point.

 It stands tall at 140 X 70 X 70 cm and weighs a hefty 100kgs.

p class=”MsoNormal”>These are stunning set of speakers and if you have a spare $200k lying around and if sound is your thing you could do worse than purchase La spheres, hand crafted in the Plouzane region of France.
