Whether it is listening to your favourite CD, watching movies on your TV, or playing games on your PC, the Divoom xForce 1 delivers impressive audio that will enhance your listening experience.

The xForce 1 is easy to assemble. All a user need to do is to connect the two satellites and the wired remote control to the subwoofer, connect your source to the 3.5mm jack, and turn the unit on. Video game consoles can also be connected to the device, although you need to purchase a Y-adapter separately. Screws are also included in the package, allowing users to wall-mount the speakers.
While you can control the volume and connect an earphone or MP3 (via 3.5mm jack) player from the wired remote, the power switch, system volume, subwoofer level, and treble level knobs are located on the back of the subwoofer. It could have been better if Divoom put the controls on the wired remote for easy fine tuning instead of us bending down just to adjusting the bass or treble.
In order to get the best sound quality from the speaker system, Divoom has recommended users to “position the two front satellite speakers on either side of your monitor and place the subwoofer on the floor beneath your desk.”

We connected the xForce 1 to our PC and played back high bitrate audio files. We found the audio to be crisp and balanced, with highs and lows clearly separated. Gunshots and explosions in movies were felt, while conversations in both video games and movies were clear. Audio streamed from a digital radio got loud, which is good if you want to listen to your favourite station at home. In our opinion, the unit sounded more like a $200 – $300 system from a well-known brand than a $99 from an unknown one.
We pushed the speakers to its limit and have found that it distorts at very high volumes. Fortunately, this can be remedied by simply adjusting the treble and bass settings. If you do not want to disturb your colleagues or neighbours, you can easily connect your favourite headphones and listen in peace.
Overall, the Divoom xForce 1 is a $99 speaker system that will blow you away. It sounds great and is definitely worth your money. It is available from the Technology Traders website at www.technologytraders.com.au.
