Millions In Gifts As HD TV War Escalates

A massive HD TV war has broken out in Australia with Sony who earlier this week announced a free PS3 worth $499 being trumped by Panasonic who today announced a free $1,099 Blu-ray home theatre kit, or $1,099 PVR or a $643 Lumix camera with any plasma TV purchase.

The war that has been fuelled by falling TV prices with LG offering consumers the opportunity to win a limited number of BMW Motor cars is set to escalate when Samsung announces their TV offer later this month.

Panasonic, who are the number one plasma TV vendor in Australia, have said that customers who purchase any Panasonic VIERA Full HD (FHD) 1080p Plasma TV from participating retailers between 24 October and 24 December, 2009, will have the option of getting either, a HD Tough LUMIX Camera pack valued at $643rrp, the HD Blu-ray Home Theatre valued at $1,099rrp or the HD Twin Tuner DVD Recorder with 250GB HDD also valued at $1,099rrp.

Earlier this week, Sony offered the new Sony Slim PS3 with limited purchases of their Bravia LCD TV line up.

Panasonic claim that they have 12,000 of each to give away.

Once the promotion starts, consumers simply have to visit panasonic.com.au/bonushd, or SMS ‘BONUS’ to 0429 826 687 to find out how many bonus gifts remain.

Each Bonus HD gift is available on the Panasonic VIERA TV which comes with the new Neo Plasma (NeoPDP) technology.  These include the flagship Full HD 1-inch ultra-thin, 1080p Wireless Z1 Plasma TV; and the new large-size 65-inch and 58-inch 2-inchiii super-thin V10 Series models.

Matt Pearce, Product Manager, TV, Panasonic Australia said: “This Christmas, we are delighted to offer a promotion giving consumers the ultimate choice in premium High Definition products, designed to bring the benefits of High Definition into every family’s living room this holiday season.”.
