The VoIP unit will be used to communicate of the the Wii Speak channel, which is opening up before the end of the year.
Users are connected to a console using a USB, allowing people to share pics and chat with up to three other Wii aficionados over the net. An LED tells users when the microphone is active.
There were concerns about the background noise being picked up by the microphone, but Nintendo producer Katsuya Eguchi, speaking at E3 earlier this year, said the unit could filter out back noises.
As for cost, a call put into Nintendo by Smarthouse found that their pricing structure was 95 percent confirmed, but would only be made public in a couple of days time.
