The new range of Lumix digital cameras from Panasonic are equipped with an Intelligent Auto mode, designed to make photography easier for novice users.
Intelligent Auto is not a new technology, it was first unveiled last year, now however, the feature is standard across the company’s new range of digital still cameras.
“A global survey of digicam users revealed that 36.2% of people are only ever using their cameras in auto mode. So we tried to create an auto mode that allows even novice users to take better pictures more consistently,” said Category Marketing Manager – Mobile AV, Alistair Robins.

Intelligent Auto detects faces, light conditions and adjusts modes, exposures and other features accordingly.
Lumix Brand Ambassador and landscape photographer Ken Duncan said, “I find the Panasonic Lumix cameras easy to use, the menus are intuitive and it means photos aren’t an ordeal to take. You are able to capture a moment quickly. For me, using a point-and-shoot has helped put the fun back into photography.”
The line up includes the new point and shoot FS range, entry level LS range, the FX 25mm wide angle camera and two additions to the TZ ‘traveller’s camera’ series. The cameras are priced from $219 for the entry level LS to $715 for the top of the range TZ15.
“With our new digital camera range, we are encouraging consumers to spend a little more money to get a better-featured camera,” added Robins.
