Toshiba ‘Grand Slam’ Panasonic: Nab OZ Open 2013 Sponsorship

Forget Federer V Nadal: Toshiba has grand slammed Panasonic, taking over sponsorship of the Australian Open 2013.

Toshiba Australia has been named the official TV Supplier for the Australian Open 2013 taking over sponsorship from rival Panasonic, whose 3 year reign as official TV, camera and air cons of the Australian Open comes to a close.

Toshiba  has now taken over as the official TV for all Australian Open Series tournaments, the Apia International Sydney and the Brisbane International.

Toshiba will supply its latest TVs including 23″ DL and HL TVs as well as 40″ RL and 46″ HL series LED TVs for use in public viewing areas, player and administration zones and corporate boxes at the event in January.

As part of the sponsorship, Toshiba branding will be emblazoned on the court at each of the tennis events.

“It’s exciting to have the chance to be part of one of Australia’s most iconic sporting events,” said Mariana Thomas, Marketing Manager, Toshiba Australia.

“This sponsorship is a great opportunity to showcase a number of our TVs, making sure patrons don’t miss a second of the grand slam action – even when they step away from their seats.”

Tennis Australia’s Director – Commercial, Steve Ayles, said: “we are excited to welcome another quality brand to our sponsor family.”

Australian Open 2013 kicks off in Melbourne from 14 – 27 January, 2013.

The Brisbane International will run from 30 December – 6 January, 2013 and the Apia International Sydney from 6-12 January, 2013.
