Cygnett has rolled out a serious portable power option for Australians who want backup energy without dragging around a generator.
The Cygnett 1000W/614.4Wh Portable Power Station is a compact, grab-and-go unit designed for camping, road trips, emergencies and keeping essential tech alive when the power drops out.
Priced at $699.95, it delivers up to 1000W through its AC outlets, with a 1600W surge peak, making it suitable for laptops, cameras, lights, small appliances and other everyday gear. There are also two USB-C ports at up to 100W each, plus USB-A, DC and car charging support.

The 614.4Wh battery uses long-life LiFePO4 technology, rated for 3000+ charge cycles, and Cygnett claims it can recharge from 0–100% in around 90 minutes via AC power. Solar input of up to 400W also gives it genuine off-grid appeal.
At 8.5kg, it is portable rather than pocketable, but the sturdy handle, built-in LED light and two-year warranty make it a practical all-rounder for Australian homes, campers and tradies.
