March Launch For Acer’s Revo One Entertainment Hub

Acer’s Revo One RL85 compact entertainment hub will launch in the Australian market from next month.Unveiled by Acer earlier this year at CES, the Revo is a personal computer designed as an entertainment centre, providing multi-media sharing, content streaming, and a number of storage options.

Available in three variants – powered by an Intel Celeron 2957u processor, or by an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor – the Revo supports dual displays (HDMI and Mini-DisplayPort), ultra-HD video (3840 x 2160) 4K2K video output, and 7.1 channels for audio output.

Sporting a polished white exterior, curved lines and rounded corners, the Revo is additionally equipped with an SD card port and two USB 2.0 and two USB 3.0 ports, and ships with a wireless keyboard and mouse.

“Acer’s Revo One looks great and is designed to be the space-saving hub for the entire family’s entertainment needs,” commented Katherine Nguyen, Acer Australia and New Zealand head of marketing.

“It delivers a powerful, fast, rich cinematic experience that’s ideal for watching TV shows, movies or photo slideshows.”

The Revo also supports Acer’s Build Your Own Cloud (BYOC) service, providing users access to their files on all of their devices wherever they are.

The Celeron 2957u comes with 2 GB RAM and a 60 GB solid-state drive, with the option of an expandable SATA port for an additional 2 TB, the i3 comes with 4 GB RAM and a 1 TB hard drive, and the i5 8 GB RAM and a 2 TB hard drive, with the option to expand with two extra hard drives up to 2 TB each.

Available at JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys and Bing Lee (not all models will be available at all stores) from March 1, prices for the Celeron 2957u start at $419, the i3 $799 and the i5 $1,099.
