Action movie director Michael Bay who is known for his Transformer movies imploded at Samsung’s CES press conference walking off stage in the middle of a Q+A session, apparently he was not happy with a teleprompter.
The star of Samsung’s massive CES press conference The “Transformers” director poised for a moment, stumbled over some words and then appeared to not be able to answer questions about himself and his movies. He exited stage left to a door leaving Samsung executives to pick up the presentation.
Bay not only found himself at a loss for words he appeared to go be unable to put a sentence together when asked basic questions.
Brought on stage by EVP Joe Stinziano to discuss 4K TV, Michael Bay said that his job as a director is to create environments where viewers can escape reality. But after a few moments of pauses he said that the script on the teleprompter was out of sync. Encouraged by Stinziano, he tried to wing it. But shortly after, Bay apologized and walked off the stage. “Welcome to Vegas, it’s live shows, folks,” the exec said as he continued the presentation.
It made for an extremely awkward moment, and an embarrassing one for Samsung who have so far not commented on the ‘transforming moment’.
The incident quickly hit Twitter and YouTube, and within minutes the whole of Vegas and CES a buzz with the incident.
