Apple Australia Executives Refuse To Comment About Poor iPhone Maps

Slammed by the Victoria Police, Apple Australia executives are still refusing to comment about the iPhone 5 mapping problems that have seen people sent into a semi-desert area 70km south of the city of Mildura. The management team that are known for their arrogance have issued no comments to the media or given information to consumers via the media after Police reported that one man was stranded for 24 hours last week in temperatures of up to 46C and at least three more have had to be rescued after following the directions given on Apple’s new maps, which located Mildura among the dusty, sun-baked trails of Murray-Sunset National Park, the second-largest in Australia and far from the town’s actual position.

The Apple Australia executives who are governed by their US masters are refusing to say what caution consumers should take when using an iPhone over the upcoming holiday period.

Yesterday it appeared that Apple has made some corrections to its new Maps app after police in Mildura said a number of people trying to find the town of 30,000 people had become hopelessly lost.

Apple Maps now correctly shows the 526km route up the Calder Highway from Melbourne to the heart of Mildura city. But the maps still also show a small outpost branded “Mildura” in small print in the heart of the Murray-Sunset National Park – a semi-desert area 70km south of the city.

Despite being pilloried on news services across the globe, including most of the major UK newspapers Apple Australia executives appear to not care about the issue despite the seriousness of the issue.
