Apple Battles It Out With Telstra For First iPhone 6S Sale

It was Apple Vs Telstra in the Sydney CBD this morning and it was Telstra who came out on top for consumers desperate to be among the first to get their hands on the new iPhone 6S.

At Telstra there was undercover standing, while at Apple it was pure soaking wet miserable weather, however relief was on hand in the form of what appeared to be a Telstra staffer with a big Telstra branded umbrella.

Welcoming the first Telstra customers were NRL players Kieran Foran (Manly Sea Eagles), Michael Ennis, Valentine Holmes (Cronulla Sharks), Brett Morris, Josh Morris, Josh Reynolds (Canterbury Bulldogs), Semi Radradra (ParramattaEels) and Marty Taupau (Wests Tigers).

According to Telstra management buying an iPhone 6s on a plan from Telstra could be a batter long term option as the Australian dollar starts to fall. Outright pricing has increased by approximately 20 per cent with the cheapest iPhone 6s (16GB) retailing for $1079. The 128GB variant retails for $1379 with prices set to rise even further if the dollar continues to fall.

Pre-sales opened to the public last Saturday at Telstra and within minutes the Telstra store was packed with eager iPhone 6S buyers.

According to Telstra staff the most popular iPhones are 64GB versions of the 6s and 6s Plus in Rose Gold.

There is over at Apple one of the first in the queue was a robot.

Instead of waiting out in the elements to snag Apple’s latest creation, an enterprising Sydneysider named Lucy Kelly has outsourced that annoying task to a “telepresence robot.” The robot, which “Human Lucy” also named “Lucy,” is basically an iPad on a Segway.
