Apple Discounts Smart Watch, Does This Mean Sales Are Slow

Apple has started discounting smart watch which some analysts say is a sign that Apple stores are either, overstocked, sales have slowed or they are looking to launch new models.

The US Company who last week failed to reveal smart watch sales after announcing record iPhone sales confirmed it is offering a discount when the Apple Watch and iPhone are purchased together from some official retail stores.

At this stage it is not known whether the discount deal is available in Australia.

The company, which rarely entertains discounts or price cuts, is offering $50 off when customers snap up the smartphone and wearable combo.

Considering the Apple Watch is about as useful as a chocolate teapot without an iPhone, the discounted bundle makes sense.

However, it’s not usually a road Apple would consider going down.

The company has been extremely cagey about sales of the Apple Watch, refusing to reveal figures since the device was released in April.

The company has claimed revealing the numbers would offer an advantage to its competitors, so has remained mum.

There’s no pervading evidence or feeling the Watch has been a flop, but Apple using a financial incentive to make it more appealing to customers is telling in its own way.

Clearly the firm can’t be entirely happy with sales resulting in discounts in selective stores.
