Apple has finally revealed the launch date of the much anticipated new iPhone. It is set to go on sale in the US on 29 June.
The release date was made public with three television ads which aired in the US on Sunday. The ads, titled “Never been an iPod,” “Calamari” and “How To” can be seen here on Apple’s US website.

Apple has said it will release the iPhone in other markets, including Australia, however, according to Apple Australia’s Fiona Martin, “No timeframe has been put on an announcement of the iPhone in Australia, other than to say we anticipate its launch some time in 2008.”
The iPhone will combine the functionality of a mobile phone, iPod and Internet browser in one. It features a 3.5-inch touch screen from which you can control the devices many features. It also includes a built-in two-megapixel camera.
