Apple’s New Security Expert Is A Pro Windows Hacker

Apple has recently hired Kristin Paget, a security researcher and hacker who uncovered so many security holes, Microsoft was forced to delay the launch of Windows Vista.Paget’s LinkedIn Profile claims she is a “Core Operating System Security Researcher.” Not surprisingly, Apple has kept quiet on Paget’s role.

Five years ago Microsoft hired Kristen Paget, then known as Chris Paget, to identify vulnerabilities in Windows Vista. According to a TechRadar report Paget worked with a small team of experts and uncovered enough security smut to halt the OS’ release.

When her NDA agreement expired in 2011, Paget told the audience at the Black Hat security conference “I’m proud of the number of bugs we found and helped get fixed.”

Earlier this year 600,000 Mac computers were infected with the Flashback Trojan. The epidemic drew attention to Apple’s vulnerabilities, with antivirus company Kaspersky Labs claiming Apple’s security was “10 years behind Microsoft.”

Not long after, Apple amended text on its website comparing a Mac’s security to Windows.

“It doesn’t get PC viruses.

“A Mac isn’t susceptible to the thousands of viruses plaguing Windows-based computers. That’s thanks to built-in defences in Mac OS X that keep you safe without any work on your part.”
