Apple is expected to announce a 7.85 inch iPad Mini this month in an effort to fight off competition from Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
According to Fortune Magazine, an event dedicated to the mini iPad’s launch is expected to take place on the 17th of October, with invitations to be issued a week before on the 10th of October.
But why wait till then?
French site Nowhereelse.fr has found photos of the supposed iPad Mini being compared to its competition.
As seen, it features the smaller lightening connector found on the new iPhone 5, along with a similarly styled speaker grill. It also appears thinner than Google’s bargain Nexus 7.

Another shot reveals the Nexus 7 has the thinnest width, but the iPad Mini compensates with a rear camera.

32GB of internal memory anyone?

These are convincing photos as the iPad Mini depicted resembles the iPhone 5 and the larger iPad, but until corroborating images surface, they should be taken with a pinch of salt.
