In court documents filed in Los Angeles, Rose and Black Frog Music claim that Activision Blizzard uses Slash and his new band Velvet Revolver in the game alongside Welcome to the Jungle. This is despite his objections and repeated promises from Activision that Slash and Velvet Revolver would not be included in the game.

“(Activision) began spinning a web of lies and deception to conceal its true intentions to not only feature Slash and VR prominently in GH III, but also promote the game by emphasising and reinforcing an association between Slash and Guns N’ Roses and the band’s song Welcome To The Jungle,” said the court document.

Activision Executive VP of Music Affairs, Tim Riley even said, “Come on… you can’t believe everything you read on the internet.”

The company said that the inclusion of a “Slash” look alike was just for the purposes of a trade show. However, when the game came out, its cover had an animated look-alike of Slash, with his signature black top hat, curly hair, and dark sunglasses.
