BenQ Bets Big On Indoor Golf Boom With Premium Simulator Projectors

Indoor golf is rapidly shifting from niche hobby to mainstream home entertainment category.

BenQ wants to be at the centre of the action with a growing range of dedicated golf simulator projectors targeting homes, hotels, gyms, sports bars and golf academies.

The company is positioning its Golf Simulator Projector lineup as more than just oversized displays.

Instead, BenQ is selling the idea of fully immersive ‘GolfSim’ spaces that combine high-brightness laser projection, short-throw optics and advanced colour tuning to recreate famous golf courses indoors.

At the premium end sits the flagship LK936ST, a 4K short-throw laser projector designed specifically for custom-built golf simulator rooms.

BenQ claims the projector delivers highly realistic visuals with dedicated Golf Mode colour tuning that enhances greens, blues and course detail while reducing colour distortion.

Other models in the lineup include the LU935ST, AH700ST and the more affordable TK710STi, which doubles as a gaming and home entertainment projector.

A major focus is installation flexibility. BenQ’s short-throw systems can project large images in confined rooms while reducing shadows from swinging golf clubs. Features such as lens shift, keystone correction and HDMI 2.0 connectivity are designed to simplify setup across garages, spare rooms and commercial venues.

The category is heating up fast. At CES 2026, SmartHouse tested a competing Hisense golf simulator setup using its high-brightness laser projectors paired with GofJoy simulation software. Hisense impressed with strong brightness performance and immersive visuals, particularly in brightly lit environments.

Where Hisense appears focused on leveraging its premium home theatre projector expertise, BenQ is taking a more specialised approach with golf-specific optimisation and a broader range of dedicated simulator models.

With permanent home golf setups becoming increasingly popular, projector brands are now competing for what could become one of the next major growth categories in premium home entertainment.
