Super 8.4 and 10.5″ Samsung Tab S unveiled in New York.The new Galaxy Tab S tablets boast WQXGA Super AMOLED screens (2560×1600 pixels) with 16:10 ratio, Samsung Exynos octa-core chipset, fingerprint sensor, 8mp rear and a 2.1 mp camera out front.
Galaxy Tab S runs Android KitKat 4.4 launched just moments ago in New York’s Madison Square Garden are “its best tablet ever”, says Samsung.
Tab S comes in two variants – 8.4″ and 10.5″ with Adaptive Display’s which change according to different lighting environments and content being viewed. AMOLED is 40% less reflective than LCD screens, so handy for the harsh Aussie sun.
The battery life is excellent, Samsung claims, and will go for 11 hours playing full HD videos with a 4900Ah battery on the smaller tablet and 7900Ah on the larger 10.5″ Tab S.
Tab S’ are extremely light and skinny at 6.6mm thin.
Available in brown and white, the 8.4″ is priced at US$399 while the 10.5 ” is US$499 and will go on sale first in the US next month.
Samsung Oz has confirmed the Galaxy Tab S will also be making its way down under this year.

More information on pricing and availability will be announced closer to launch.
Content wise, Samsung Tab S comes with a new app called Papergarden which features magazine content from Conde Nast titles and National Geographic.
An optional Bluetooth keyboard is also available.
“Galaxy Tab S is an extension of Galaxy S5 both in design & features,” tweeted Carolina Milanesi, Comtech analyst who was at the NYC event.
“Samsung certainly driving home that they are not just about hardware but that they are investing in content too to win consumers over.
“No question that Samsung has been the only Apple competitor 2 c considerable growth over past year – not a surprise considering strong push,” she added.
