Sony is rolling out a small number of Blu-ray disc movies this month, to coincide with the launch of Blu-ray players from Samsung and Panasonic.
The first BD titles to come to Australia include Hitch, S.W.A.T, Underworld Evolution, A Knight’s Tale and Hostel. But Sony promises more titles to come, such as RV and Click, in the lead up to Christmas.
“We stand behind the superiority of Blu-ray as the preeminent high-definition optical disc format and are committed to delivering a strong slate of Blu-ray titles to entertainment enthusiasts worldwide,” said Sony’s David Bishop.
Sony said it will debut BD titles in Australia along with Japan, Korea, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Holland, the Nordic countries, Spain and the United Kingdom.
