Bose Australia, who has upset many of their traditional retailers by moving to sell their products direct, are now trying to rort Australians by selling goods 40% dearer than what the same goods are sold for in the USA.The Bose Wave radio which sells for $699 in Australia via the Bose owned US web site is selling in Australia for US$499 on the current exchange rate.
Even when 10% GST is removed from the Australian price the difference is $154.
Bose operates company web sites in both Australia and the USA.
Early last year when Bose stopped retailers selling their Wave radios and headphones, several retailers stopped selling Bose goods, including their home theatre kits and speakers. They also refused to install new Bose in store merchandisers after Bose Australia requested retailers fork out thousands to pay for the display units.

Another product that appears to be overpriced on the Bose web site includes the Bose Quiet Comfort noise cancelling headphones. In Australia the headphones are listed on the Bose web site at $499 plus $10 for shipping or $20 for express shipping.
John Lewis in the UK is selling the same headphones for A$347 including the $30 shipping fee to Australia.
The same headphones are sold by Bose in the USA for A$346 which is $152 cheaper than the Australian price from the same Company.

Bose was not available to comment on why they appear to be rorting Australians looking to buy their goods.
