Fujifilm has launched three new digital cameras aimed at the budget-end of the spectrum, designed for the first time digital convert.

The entry level model of the three is the A610 (RRP: $189), a 6.3 megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom and a graphic user interface that’s designed to make navigating the controls simple for the new user. It features a 2.5-inch LCD display, 14 selectable scene modes and move capture of 30 frames per second, Fujifilm says. The camera can take both SD and xD picture cards and comes with two AA-size alkaline batteries, hand strap; Video cable; USB cable and CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer.

The Super CCD sensor also claims to capture highlights and shadow details quite clearly in your photos. This camera also has movie mode, a 2.5-inch LCD display and takes SD and xD media cards. It comes with two AA-size batteries; hand strap; A/V cable; USB cable (mini B); CD-Rom with FinePix Viewer and Owner’s manual.

At the top end of these budget models is the A900 (RRP: $299) which is a 9 megapixel camera with 4x optical zoom, ISO 800 sensitivity, 17 pre-programmed scene modes and Fujifilm’s Super CCD sensor. Like the other two, the user interface is designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind, Fujifilm says. The A900 also offers picture stabilization mode to minimise blur as well as five playback modes including Slide Show and Portrait Trimming. QVGA movie capture is also in place, and the camera is compatible with SD and xD media cards. Accessories are the same as those included for the A820.
