Convicted Oz Facebook Porn ‘Troll’ Appeals

A Queenslander convicted of publishing child porn images on the social network seeks bail pending an appeal.
But it gets worse. The pictures were placed on the Facebook tribute pages of two schoolchildren who were murdered in the state last year.

The sick individual, Bradley Paul Hampson, also posted disturbing messages on hte webpages like “Woot I’m Dead”and “Had It Coming.”

The deceased minors in question were a 12 year old boy who was stabbed in a Brisbane school and a 9 year old girl abducted and murdered in February 2010.

Last month, Hampson, acting under a pseudonym of ‘Dale Angerer,’ was convicted of ‘internet trolling’ by the District Court, a practice which refers to posting inflammatory or extraneous material online.

He pleaded guilty to several counts of using a carriage service to cause offence and of distributing and possessing exploitation material, according to News Ltd media.

Judge Kerry O’Brien, sentenced Hampson on March 25 to a three year jail term, but ordered his release after  a year.

Hampson is seeking bail pending an appeal against his three-year jail term and his lawyers have lodged an application for bail to the Supreme Court, the first of its kind in Australia. The application will be heard on May 3.

The 29 year old from Brisbane’s Tarragindi area, posted images of one victim with a penis drawn near their mouth together with highly offensive messages.

“These posts were designed to offend all of the members,” said Prosecutor Anthony Gett, referring to the tribute pages.

“He was mocking the deaths of these children in a highly sexual manner.”

Barrister Carl Heaton, for Hampson, said his client who is autistic, was expressing anger towards offensive material posted by other individuals on a Facebook support site for people suffering with the condition, but conceeded the offense his client caused.
