Creative Rips Off Apple Marketing

In an attempt to generate some hype for their newest MP3 player announced tomorrow, Creative have deliberately aped the one “One More Thing” campaign used to launch the iPod video.

The invite sent to journalists uses a set of blue curtains and a spotlight offering glimpses of a new green device, similar to the infamous red curtain used in the invites to the iPod video launch (below).

Creative will unveil its new player at the British Academy of Film and Television at 12PM on Thursday December 8, just as the iPod video was launched at the BBC in October.

Meanwhile, blogsite Stuck On Fish says it has early copies of a flier for the Creative Festival Sales in Singapore from 9 – 11 Dec, and what appears to be a picture of the imminent device.

The very grainy picture shows a model holding a green and white player and being followed by a robot made up of a jukebox, TV, computer and musical instruments. Many have speculated Creative will announce the direct competitor to the very successful iPod video. And just in time for Christmas.

Nick Angelucci at Creative Australia declined to comment.
